Developing ideas introduced in The List Paintings, this group of works collect reproduced fragments of text as a ‘base’ for scrapbook/mood-board type agglomerations of long collected notes—odd thoughts and ideas—adding to and developing the sideways glimpsing and glancing of ideas in the Fingerprints paintings. The Prose Paintings are a repository for my creative concerns of the past three decades not as a summing up but as a repository—a collection—articulating the beauty of ideas and their latent evocative power.
